If Signicat doesn’t ring a bell by now, it probably means you haven’t fully dived into the world of digital identity yet… and that needs to change. 😏

Since its founding in 2007, this company has been constantly reinventing the way we identify ourselves online. They’ve built the most extensive digital identity platform in Europe, earning the trust of giants like BMW, PayPal, and Santander to verify, authenticate, and protect millions of users.

Signicat is not just cutting-edge technology and bulletproof compliance. It’s an ecosystem where security and innovation meet, offering solutions that make digital onboarding safe, fast, and—above all—headache-free.

If this is starting to sound interesting, just wait until you see what we’ve got in store 👇

What will you do?

🧵 First, a bit of context—thread incoming…:

Back in 2007, in the cold yet innovative Nordic countries, Signicat was born with a clear mission: to make digital identity secure, simple, and hassle-free. Since then, the company has grown to become the most powerful digital identity platform in Europe, integrating over 240 identification methods and 200 data sources.

They've been pioneers in authentication, identity verification, and electronic signatures. Thanks to their expertise, companies like BMW, PayPal, and Santander trust them to keep the digital identities of millions of people safe.

But their growth hasn’t only been technological, it’s also been about impact. More than 13,000 companies around the world use their solutions to comply with regulations, prevent fraud, and deliver frictionless digital experiences.

Right now, they’re in a phase of expansion, solidifying their leadership and strengthening their platform with new products and services. And that’s where you come in. 🫵

🤔Okay, okay, but what do they want you to do?

On one hand, you’ll be joining a team that’s developing one of their new products related to document verification and digital identity. You’ll have room to propose ideas, experiment, and build from scratch. At the same time, you’ll also work on maintaining and improving existing services, focusing mainly on enhancing the scalability and quality of their products.

What’s interesting here is that it’s not just about writing code: you’ll be actively involved in technical decisions, database design, domain separation, and doing all this with a DevOps mindset in an environment where quality and security are key.

From a technical perspective, they use Java 21, Spring Boot, SQL, RabbitMQ, and are currently in the process of breaking up their monolith and evolving their architecture.

Your evolution

Signicat
Your day ZERO

In 1 month

The first month will be a discovery phase: you'll get to know Signicat’s products, its value proposition, and how the organization works. You'll attend introductory sessions at the company level (covering tech, product, customer support, operations, etc.) and start integrating with your immediate team. You'll also shadow a more senior colleague to begin diving deeper into a specific service or product.

Your responsibilities

  • Design and develop services as part of distributed applications

  • Collaborate closely with the immediate team/tribe and product owner

  • Work with requirements for maintainability, testability, performance, security, and quality services

  • Engage in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of the platform

How will you do it?

At Signicat, work methodologies are not dogma, but tools. They don’t aim to box you in with SCRUM, SAFe, or any trendy framework; instead, they focus on ensuring that work flows as efficiently as possible. Their approach is pragmatic and results-oriented, where agility is not just a buzzword, but a way of thinking and acting.

That said, we can tell you that they take continuous improvement very seriously. If you're motivated by ongoing improvement and constantly evolving the way you work, you’ll fit in well here.

The team works with Jira and GitLab for task management and code reviews, keeping everything well documented and accessible. Communication is clear and direct: there's no room for unnecessary noise or bureaucracy that slows down the pace. Decisions are made quickly, and the goal is clear: to move forward and deliver a robust, high-quality product.

If you're motivated by an environment where autonomy, efficiency, and quality work come first, where you can focus on coding rather than getting lost in unnecessary meetings, you’ll thrive here.

When will you work?

🕒 Your time, your rhythm

At Signicat, they understand that everyone works differently, which is why they offer a flexible schedule that adapts to your daily routine. The ideal is to overlap with the team between 10:00 and 16:00 CET, when collaboration and connection are at their peak—but outside of that, you’re free to organize your time as it suits you best.

🌞 In the summer (July and August), they switch to a continuous schedule from 8:00 to 16:00, so you can enjoy your afternoons and make the most of the sunny days.

On-call shifts

They follow a DevOps approach, so the same team handles both development and operations, including monitoring, alerts, and emergency fixes.

You’d join the on-call rota a few months in, once you're comfortable with the systems. It’s planned within the team and paid on top of your salary. There’s a fixed amount for being available (which varies for weekdays, weekends, or holidays), and if you’re called in, the hours are paid double.
