I choose you!

Ash Ketchum would have loved to control Pikachu's electricity like they do at this scale-up, because Plexigrid offers solutions for the efficient management of electrical distribution networks, focused on the transition to more sustainable and decentralised systems.

Now, to continue growing, they are looking for a QA to join their team, so if you like high-voltage challenges and have a spark, read on! ⚡️

¿Qué harás?

After all those references to Pokémon, the bar has been set pretty high, so you're probably wondering what Plexigrid is and what it does. Well, Plexi is not only a scale-up based in Sweden and Spain, but also a spin-off from the University of Oviedo, focused on optimising electricity distribution networks through software, especially low-voltage networks.

They have four proprietary products (Ari, Tatari, Tia and e-Tia), which are responsible for generating simulations of electrical networks and solutions that seek network flexibility based on real-time load, as well as software to improve the efficiency of operations and monitoring of electrical distribution networks, enabling smarter and more efficient operation.

Plexigrid is building the intelligence layer that will power the 21st-century electricity grid, and it is doing so in environments where reliability and security are non-negotiable.

Plexigrid has designed a real-time AI-powered digital twin that unifies these fragmented systems into a single source. Its platform models and coordinates entire distribution networks with device-level resolution, but unlike typical SaaS, Plexigrid operates in the critical realm of national infrastructure.

Their software has a direct impact on how DSOs stabilise networks, manage risks in real time and keep the lights on for millions of people.

The platform is already in place at leading distribution system operators (DSOs) across Europe, and is rapidly expanding across North America, Australia and New Zealand. As they grow globally, security becomes one of the key differentiators, which is why utilities entrust them with operational control.

🫵🏻What about you?

You will join the customer delivery organization, the team responsible for implementing, integrating, and deploying Plexigrid solutions in customer environments. They work closely with utilities, network operators, and other players in the energy sector to ensure that the platform becomes a seamless and reliable part of their operational environment.

You will work in collaboration with project managers and solution architects, participating in the entire delivery lifecycle—from requirements analysis and defining the testing strategy, through design, execution, defect management, and reporting. Much of this work involves collaborating directly with client stakeholders to verify that the integrated solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements.

As a QA, you will be responsible for managing and executing the entire testing lifecycle for Plexi’s client delivery projects! From developing the overall testing strategy to designing individual test cases, executing tests, managing defects, and producing clear quality reports. You will be the primary guarantor of software quality throughout all project phases.

You will work closely with solution architects, developers, and client representatives to understand system behavior, integration contracts, and acceptance criteria. Your ability to translate complex technical and functional requirements into structured, traceable test objects—as well as to clearly communicate the state of quality to both technical and non-technical audiences—will be essential.

You will also contribute to the maturation of quality assurance practices at Plexigrid, helping to create test frameworks, standards, and reusable tools that raise the bar for quality across all client projects.

As a fast-growing start-up, they evolve as they continue to grow, which is why they value adaptable profiles who consider themselves ‘Swiss Army knives’, as roles, teams and responsibilities may change as new opportunities arise. Here you will have the opportunity to influence not only the product, but also the way they work.

Tu evolución

Plexigrid
Tu primer día

En 1 mes

During this first month, you’ll not only get to know the people who will be part of your team, but you’ll also start to get used to Plexigrid’s way of doing things and its quality processes. Since these are orientation days, the focus will be on training you so you don’t feel lost.

During the first week, you’ll receive training on electrical engineering and power distribution. You’ll also learn about their user-level applications, project architecture and lifecycle, and how testing is integrated into each stage.

In the following weeks, you’ll be assigned a mentor who will work with you on a shadowing basis until you’ve grasped the full technical and business context.

Tus responsabilidades

  • Define and take ownership of the testing strategy for each project, including scope, approach, acceptance criteria, risk-based prioritization, and resource planning.

  • Identify testing risks early on and propose mitigation strategies in collaboration with the project manager.

  • Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and test results throughout the entire project lifecycle.

  • Design comprehensive test cases and test suites covering functional, integration, regression, performance, and user acceptance scenarios.

  • Execute manual and automated test cycles, accurately record results, and manage the defect lifecycle from detection to closure.

  • Validate end-to-end system integrations, ensuring that data flows, interface contracts, and business logic behave as specified.

  • Prepare reports covering test progress, coverage, defect status, and release readiness.

  • Proactively communicate quality risks and obstacles to the project manager and relevant stakeholders.

  • Work closely with solution architects, developers, client quality assurance teams, and business stakeholders.

  • Support pre-sales and estimation activities by defining the scope of testing and identifying quality considerations early on.

  • Participate in retrospectives, mentor junior team members, contribute to the development of shared quality assurance standards, and share knowledge with product/engineering teams to drive continuous improvement.

¿Cómo lo harás?

As a team, of course! You’ll have the support of colleagues from Product, Sales and the client side right from the start, so you’ll be up to speed with the projects and architecture before you know it. But what will your day-to-day be like?

They operate as a modern systems integration organization built on collaboration, clarity, and incremental delivery. This means you’ll be in constant contact with clients, solution architects, and project managers to ensure that quality is prioritized from the initial scope definition through to deployment—and (as Buzz Lightyear would say) beyond 🚀

They manage projects in phases and waves (wave-based delivery), which allows them to generate value from early stages, iterate continuously, and ensure that test coverage is validated incrementally rather than postponed until the end. They maintain a clear separation between testing, design, execution, and reporting, without sacrificing agility or responsiveness. They analyze each iteration in retrospectives to continuously learn and improve through action guides, quality control reviews, and shared sessions on best practices.

They are big fans of thorough documentation: test plans, traceability matrices, execution reports, and lessons-learned documents.

On the other hand, they take reliability, security, and operational readiness standards very seriously in every integration they deliver. It’s not just about making it work, but about making it work well, in the long term, and with scalability in mind.

In short, you’ll find a culture of ownership, transparency and multidisciplinary work, where collaboration isn’t just a value on paper but something that’s put into practice every day.

¿Cuándo trabajarás?

You'll be delighted to know that the only roosters you'll hear here are your neighbours' in the shower because, if you want, no more early mornings!

As you read, whether you like to get up early or need some time to drop the kids off at school, you'll be able to organise yourself flexibly, because you'll find a company that is governed by goal-oriented dynamics and is committed to flexible working hours.

That said, working with clients has its own magic and rhythm. There will be discovery workshops or follow-up meetings where the schedule takes precedence, and you’ll have to work around the client’s timetable. But far from being the norm, these are the moments when the work really comes to life: when you see that what you’ve designed fits, that the client understands it, and that the project is moving forward. For everything else, we try to do what we can to coordinate and meet at certain key times, so that afterwards you have time to focus entirely on what really matters 🙌🏻

¿Dónde trabajarás?

Remoto

100%

As the headline spoils, this position is 100% remote! Although they have a sense of team spirit and see each other from time to time. In fact, those based in Gijón would be delighted if you popped in whenever you like. Otherwise, you’ll have the chance to meet up at team-building events!

That said, every now and then you might have to visit a client for a workshop, a presentation or simply to put a face to the video calls. These are rare occasions, but well worth it: there’s nothing quite like a face-to-face meeting to get a project moving again or wrap up a phase on a high note. Apart from that, you can work from wherever you like 🧑‍💻

¿Con quién trabajarás?

Now that you know what you will be doing, how, when and where, you will want to know a fundamental part of your day-to-day work: who will you be working with?
