Your main mission will be to review their existing automation, pinpoint and analyze improvements and help them build reliable and scalable testing solutions.
You will be a key anchor for many teams working transversally, developing and maintaining Frontend automations with Playwright and Java.
You will do this, in collaboration with PM’s, Frontend and Backend teams and will also work closely with other QA Automation Engineers in a multi-environment and highly regulated product.

Your main mission will be to dive deep into the ecosystem and review all current automations. You'll start collaborating closely with the Frontend and Backend Engineers, understanding their workflows.You will hit the ground running but not only reviewing the existing automation framework but actively identifying and suggesting improvements.
Tus responsabilidades
Design effective test cases based on requirements, risks and business rules.
Develop and maintain frontend automation using Playwright and Java.
Automate GraphQL API testing using Postman and JavaScript.
Review and improve the existing automation framework, rebuilding parts when necessary.
Integrate and maintain automated tests within CI/CD.
Review pull requests and support other QA team members.
Analyse failed and flaky tests and improve execution reliability.
Manage test cases and executions using Jira and Zephyr or similar tools.
Report defects clearly with the required technical evidence.
Create and analyse test reports using Allure.
Perform manual and exploratory testing when required.
Test payment integrations across multiple environments and configurations.

The Tech Stack
The testing of the platform runs in Playwright and Java, while we handle our API testing using Postman and JavaScript.
Here is a snapshot of what you'll be getting your hands on:
- Automation and testing: Be in charge of automating the GraphQL API (or Rest API) testing using Postman (Insomnia or Karate) and JavaScript (or TypeScript).
- Frontend automation: Manage automation utilizing Playwright and Java. While this duo is the preference, having a solid background in Cypress or Selenium is also a great starting point!
- Test reports: Take charge of generating and evaluating comprehensive test reports through Allure.
- CI/CD pipelines: Integrate and maintain automated tests with Git.

Remoto
This position is 100% remote if you are based anywhere in Spain or Europe.
That said, they have amazing offices in Marbella. Although, for those residing in the Malaga area, the role follows a hybrid model, with the team gathering at the office three days each week. Their facilities are the kind that make you question going back to remote work: open spaces, a great international atmosphere, and all the amenities you need to make work flow smoothly.

You won’t be making this journey alone. You’ll join a QA team currently made up of 3 people, 1 QA Lead, 1 QA Manager and 2 QA Engineers🚀. In your day-to-day, you will work closely with the Product Managers and specifically the Frontend and Backend teams 🤩.

- Advanced written and spoken English.
- 4+ years of professional experience in test automation.
- Strong ability to design test cases, including positive, negative, boundary and risk-based scenarios.
- Strong experience with Playwright , Java, Postman (Insomnia or Karate) and JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Strong experience testing and automating GraphQL APIs or Rest API Ability to review, improve or build an automation framework.
- Experience with Git, pull requests and CI/CD.
- Experience with Jira and test management tools such as Zephyr.
- Experience testing payment solutions or working in highly regulated sectors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Bonus points🎁:
- Experience with Kafka.
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification.
- Experience with Allure.
- Previous experience in iGaming, fintech or banking.

What the FAQ?
Yes, as long as you reside in Spain or within the European Union. If you live in Spain, you can choose between being 100% remote or dropping by our Marbella offices. If you are in another EU country, the position is fully remote. Please note that they cannot sponsor work visas outside the EU, so you must have a valid work permit.
🇪🇸 If you live in Spain: You will join under a standard permanent employment contract. (Note: for legal reasons, they do not consider B2B or freelance options if you are tax resident in Spain).
🇪🇺 If you live in the rest of Europe: The hiring format will strictly be B2B or freelance. Given the urgency to scale the team, they are looking for people who already have their legal structure and paperwork in place. If you need to set up a company or register from scratch, the process could take one or two months, and they need “firepower” as soon as possible.
🛂 Visas and relocation: Valsea does not offer visa sponsorship or relocation packages. It is an essential requirement to have an EU passport or a valid work permit within the EU from day one.
The process is designed to be agile and consists of 4 steps:
- Technical Interview (approx. 1 h): Forget take-home assignments! This is done live and is split into two phases: A “Reality Check” (30–40 mins) where you will go through key QA fundamental questions. A hands-on phase (20-30 mins) where you will discuss how to solve a real problem.
- HR Screening (30 min): A conversation with Lovisa to ensure cultural alignment and review your expectations.
- Final Interview (1h): A discussion with Jesus (QA Manager) and Noemi (HR) to go deeper into your experience and assess team fit.
