Would you like to help shape the agile culture of a company that literally saves lives?

DEHN is an international company with more than a century of history. Originally focused on lightning protection and surge prevention, DEHN has evolved into a leader in both hardware and software solutions designed to protect people, equipment, and infrastructure.

Now, as part of their digital transformation, they’re expanding their presence in Spain and building a remote-first tech hub. To support this growth, they’re looking for an experienced Scrum Master who’s passionate about agility and thrives in collaborative, fully remote environments.

¿Qué harás?

DEHN is a German company with over a century of history 😮. They were born creating protections for lightning and electrical surges, and over the years they have evolved towards hardware and software related to this same field. Their devices and software are responsible for preventing electrical surges and hazards ⚡.

It is an international company, with more than 2000 employees all over the world, and they have more than 20 offices in different countries, including Spain, where their subsidiary is DEHN Ibérica.

If you want to know the history of a company with more than a century of history, they have a very cool timeline on their website.

In 2021, they launched DEHN Digital Solutions GmbH, a unit focused on accelerating their tech evolution. Their mission is to "enable DEHN to shape its leadership in the digital future", promoting global collaboration, data-driven thinking, customer orientation, and modern digital services.

They’re building a new technology hub in Spain, with the goal of growing to 30–40 people in the coming years. Agile ways of working are essential to this effort.

As a Scrum Master, you’ll play a key role in creating the right environment for product and engineering teams to thrive. You’ll support at least two Scrum teams, helping them become more autonomous, collaborative, and focused on delivering meaningful value.

You’ll work hand-in-hand with Product Owners, Developers, and Architects across Spain and Germany to define roadmaps, support agile delivery, and strengthen the overall agile culture at DEHN.

As a Scrum Master, you will go through a structured onboarding process to gain a deep understanding of DEHN’s business, team dynamics, and current agile practices across the organization.

By the time you are settled in, you’ll be familiar with the teams you support, their products and challenges, and you'll know exactly who to turn to for support, alignment, or collaboration.

As a key member of DEHN’s engineering and product organization, you will play an essential role in shaping the agile roadmap for the next 12 months, identifying areas for team improvement, supporting delivery, and scaling agile principles across the hub.

Tus responsabilidades

  • Act as Scrum Master for at least two Scrum teams

  • Foster self-organization, autonomy, and continuous improvement promoting team ownership, productivity, and healthy collaboration.

  • Support Product Owners in defining vision, roadmaps, and user stories

  • Facilitate agile ceremonies, retrospectives, and team workshops and help teams improve communication with external stakeholders

  • Ensure transparency using agile tools like Jira, Miro, Confluence.

  • Collaborate with other Scrum Masters to scale agile culture sharing knowledge and practices to strengthen agility across DEHN

¿Cómo lo harás?

The Engineering Team is growing fast. While DEHN is a well-established company with more than 100 years of industrial expertise, they are now building a modern tech hub in Spain, closely connected to their existing teams in Germany.

The goal? To create a European reference team that bridges DEHN’s strong hardware legacy with cutting-edge cloud, data and IoT solutions.

Even though the Spanish team is still taking shape, you won’t be alone. You’ll work in close collaboration with product leaders, engineers, solution architects and other Scrum Masters from across Europe. Teams are cross-functional and self-organized, and you’ll play a key role in helping them operate effectively from sprint planning to continuous improvement.

The technical environment is diverse and modern. On the backend, teams work with Java + Spring Boot, Kafka, and cloud-native infrastructure (primarily AWS, with infrastructure-as-code practices). Frontend development is done with TypeScript, Node.js, Vue.js, Angular and Tailwind CSS. There are efforts underway to standardize the tech stack and improve platform scalability. You’ll support the teams in aligning delivery processes across this ecosystem.

This is a pivotal moment: DEHN is replacing legacy systems, launching new digital platforms, and scaling agile delivery across products and countries. Your work will directly contribute to creating flow, predictability and trust in a distributed environment with real impact.

DEHN believes in small, empowered teams that value autonomy, agile thinking and continuous learning. You’ll benefit from the stability of a global leader, while working in a space where your voice and mindset can shape how things are done. It’s a rare mix of tech maturity and forward momentum.

¿Cuándo trabajarás?

The work schedule offers flexibility, and you will have the responsibility of making decisions in this regard. The engineering team operates with a self-organized working day, as they strongly believe it promotes asynchronous and autonomous work, which is particularly beneficial considering the team's anticipated growth in the short to medium term. Get ready to soar to new heights!  🛫.

You have the flexibility to work from wherever you prefer, especially if you have a subscription to an airline that Dehn is already partnered with. Currently, the technical team primarily operates in a fully remote setup 🌴, but you also have the option to work from the office in Madrid whenever you choose.

Dehn initially started as a fully remote company, and while they want their tech team to be based in Spain, they strongly value the benefits of remote work and work-life balance. This means that you may have colleagues located in various cities such as Madrid, Salamanca, Valencia, or Majorca :)

Additionally, Dehn plans to organize periodic in-person meetings at selected locations, providing opportunities for face-to-face interactions. These gatherings aim to complement the virtual work environment and have already proven to be highly successful during their first occurrence.

The first of these meetings was a great success!
