DEHN is a German company with over a century of history 😮. They were born creating protections for lightning and electrical surges, and over the years they have evolved towards hardware and software related to this same field. Their devices and software are responsible for preventing electrical surges and hazards ⚡.
It is an international company, with more than 2000 employees all over the world, and they have more than 20 offices in different countries, including Spain, where their subsidiary is DEHN Ibérica.

If you notice, one of their latest milestones on this timeline is the appointment of their CTO, Christian Höhler in 2020. Which shows the dimension that technology has in this stage of the company, where software is essential.
In addition, in 2021 the DEHN digital solutions GmbH came to life and their role is to support the digital transformation of DEHN. Their mission statement is “We enable DEHN to shape its leadership in the digital future”. They do this by showing & encouraging global collaboration without boundaries in an agile way. While fostering a data driven culture, a customer oriented mindset and automated processes_ and building great customer software, digital services and smart solutions.
They have hundreds of internal and external applications. From their own patented software that helps them measure thousands of environmental data, to electrical control software that saves lives, to their management applications. A company with such a history also has a very broad technological history.
The Spanish team has grown a lot in recent years, and it is also a strategic point for their logistics and operations. That is why they have thought about establishing a technological operations center, a HUB, in Madrid. They have started with some operations personnel, but their intention is to create a team of 30-40 people in the coming years.
They are having challenges stabilizing the infrastructure due to the accelerated growth of recent years, and they also want to develop new software products, including mobile apps, to replace old applications and automate many actions, especially in connection with smart devices.
This is where you come in.
As Product Owner, you’ll help shape the future of DEHN’s platforms by defining strategy, building roadmaps, and prioritizing initiatives focused on mobile and connected devices. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams in Spain and Germany to translate real user needs into valuable product features. Your work will play a critical role in organizing the product landscape, improving delivery, and ensuring every step is aligned with DEHN’s broader digital goals.

You’ll complete your onboarding and get to know your teammates how they work, what drives them, and how they take their coffee. You’ll dive into Dehn’s product ecosystem, understand the current platform setup, and explore how risk analysis and safety are managed through software. By the end of the month, you’ll have a clear picture of your first product area and the key stakeholders around it.
Tus responsabilidades
Own and prioritize the product backlog for mobile applications (iOS/Android) connected to smart devices.
Contribute to the long-term product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with mobile user needs and device capabilities.
Translate high-level goals into clear, actionable user stories and requirements
Collaborate with UX/UI teams to ensure user-centric design
Partner with business stakeholders to define problems and validate solutions
Work closely with engineering teams in Agile/Scrum environments, including mobile developers and firmware engineers.
Measure product performance using analytics, user feedback, and A/B testing, adjusting priorities based on data.
Facilitate sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives and be the voice of the customer throughout the mobile development process.

Dehn’s engineering culture is fully remote-first, built around asynchronous communication, ownership, and autonomy. While their new digital hub is based in Spain, they have team members across Madrid, Salamanca, Valencia, and Majorca 🌴
You’ll have a flexible schedule, and freedom to self-organize your time and deliverables. And yes, they do meet up in person a few times a year, because behind every Slack message there’s a real human.
They use Jira, Confluence, Figma and analytics platforms to manage workflows and decisions, and follow standard Agile ceremonies and best practices.

You have the flexibility to work from wherever you prefer, especially if you have a subscription to an airline that DEHN is already partnered with. Currently, the product and technical teams operate in a fully remote setup 🌴, but you’re always welcome to work from the office in Madrid whenever you choose.
DEHN initially embraced a remote-first culture, and while their new product and mobile teams will be based in Spain, they strongly value flexibility and work-life balance. This means your teammates might be located across Madrid, Salamanca, Valencia, Majorca, or other cities, and collaboration happens seamlessly across locations.
To foster team spirit and collaboration, DEHN also organizes regular in-person gatherings, usually in Madrid or other convenient locations, where product, engineering, and design teams come together to align roadmaps, run workshops, and enjoy some quality face-to-face time. These sessions have proven to be a great way to stay connected while keeping the advantages of remote work.
The first of these team events was a big success,and more are already planned!

We’ve been working with them at Manfred for a couple of years now, and beyond their software team, we’ve already helped them hire over 18 people from our community. Some of the teammates are:
- Julian Duerr ( Head of SW Architecture) - Has more than 10 years of experience as a developer and a lead Enterprise and Solution Architect.
- Matthias Hecht (Agile Coach and Scrum Master) - Agile Coach for almost 2 years in the DDS
- Ivan Palleiro Perez (Head of Engineering) - The geeky Head of Engineering with a love for graphic design.
- Sergio and Carlos (Front-end, Fullstack Developers) - Started recently in Spain as part of the team.
¿Qué piden?
This is what you’ll need to thrive in the role:
- 3 to 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner (or similar) in software products, ideally with exposure to mobile applications (iOS/Android) or connected devices.
- Solid knowledge of Agile development and product lifecycles.
- Experience working on products with integration to external systems, such as firmware, smart devices, or cloud services.
- Ability to write clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria, turning business and user needs into actionable development tasks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, collaborating with cross-functional teams (UX, engineering, QA).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, comfortable using data and experimentation (A/B testing) to inform decisions.
- Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, Figma, and product analytics tools (Firebase, App Store Connect, or similar).
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience in mobile product management, either as a core focus or in cross-platform products.
- Experience with connected devices, IoT ecosystems, or integrating software with physical products.
- Basic understanding of connectivity protocols (BLE, Wi-Fi) or related technical concepts.
- Experience in fast-paced environments, such as startups or product teams in growth phase.
- Agile certifications (e.g., CSPO) are a plus.
- English (C1) is required, German (B2) is a plus.

What the FAQ?
You are only eligible for this position if you are a resident of the Spain.
- There will be an initial meeting with 3 colleagues from the SCRUM master, the Lead Software Architect and one more team member
- For the second meeting we’ll give you a small task, which you will present and then we will discuss this and then have a more tech related talk
- The third meeting is our culture meeting in which you’ll meet other team members and we’ll present our values and culture and talk about it
